The Apollo craters and the mare Orientale basin are identified in the image.

Apollo crater is nothing but the basin whose inner ring is half the diameter of the outer wall. It is named after the apollo8 which is the first crewed spacecraft to reach the moon.

Mare Orientale is a dark and large plain surface which is formed by large volcanic eruptions on the moon. The first sight of this mistook by scientists as the sea. It is said that it is difficult to find it from the earth's perspective.
